Auckland Extended Family Photoshoot at Arkles Bay
This Auckland extended family photoshoot was one of those sessions that felt especially meaningful right from the very beginning.
Marsha is my brother in law’s mum and has always been such a kind, steady supporter of my work, so photographing her family was an absolute pleasure. With her mum and sister visiting from Canada, this session had been planned well in advance and felt incredibly special. When loved ones travel so far, extended family photos become more than just pictures… they become memories preserved for generations.
This multi generational family photoshoot included Marsha, her mum and sister, her daughter Erica and son in law Callum, whose wedding I photographed, and their beautiful baby girl Charlotte, who I also photographed recently as a newborn. My sister in law Hannah and brother in law Evan joined us as well, along with my nephew Oliver and my twin nieces Millie and Lulu. Three generations, all together, in one place.
The day itself looked uncertain. Auckland weather had other ideas, with gloomy skies and an overcast forecast. But we trusted it… and somehow the weather held out perfectly. The clouds gave us the softest, most flattering light, making Arkles Bay the ideal backdrop for this extended family photography session.
Arkles Bay is one of my favourite locations for Auckland family photos. It’s calm, spacious, and timeless… perfect for families with babies, grandparents, and energetic little ones all sharing the same session.
These are the kinds of photos that grow in value over time. Photos that remind you who was there, how it felt, and just how connected your family really is.
If you’re considering an Auckland extended family photoshoot, especially with relatives visiting from overseas, I’d love to help you plan something relaxed, meaningful, and beautifully personal.
