Nirvair’s session, held in my warm Papakura studio, was the perfect blend of connection, calm, and simplicity. Right from the beginning, the love and pride this sweet family shared for their newest addition was easy to see.

Nirvair arrived with his mum, dad, and nana. To begin, we took individual portraits of each of them holding him — simple, timeless images that beautifully capture those early bonds. After that, we moved into full family portraits. These are always a favourite, as they highlight the joy and closeness that new life brings into a family.

Following the family photos, we shifted focus to baby Nirvair on his own. He settled quickly, which allowed us to capture a stunning range of creamy, soft-toned images. In addition to his portraits, I included a series of macro detail shots — his tiny toes, fingernails, ears, and delicate hair. These close-ups are so important because those little details change so quickly.

Throughout the session, I maintained a neutral and minimal styling approach. Creams, whites, and soft textures kept the focus on Nirvair’s peaceful expressions and tiny features. Moreover, these tones ensure the final gallery remains elegant, timeless, and cohesive.

Not only was this session visually beautiful, but it was also full of quiet moments that parents will treasure forever. It’s sessions like this that remind us just how quickly newborns grow and change.
