A beautiful autumn evening at One Tree Hill set the perfect scene for Annie’s Auckland maternity photoshoot. Expecting her fourth baby—her first daughter—she chose a natural, outdoor location to celebrate this special time. The golden hour light streamed through the tall grass, creating a warm and dreamy atmosphere.
Golden hour, the hour before sunset, is the best time for outdoor photography. The sun sits low in the sky, casting soft, flattering light that enhances every image. Over winter, golden hour happens earlier, making it ideal for families with young children who may struggle with later sessions in summer. The gentle glow adds warmth and depth, creating a magical and timeless look.
Maternity photography is a beautiful way to document the journey to motherhood. Pregnancy passes quickly, and capturing it with professional photos creates lasting memories. The best time for a maternity session is between 32 and 36 weeks when the baby bump is perfectly round, yet mums still feel comfortable moving and posing.
During Annie’s session, her three boys filled the evening with laughter and energy. They took turns hugging their mum, then ran off to kick a soccer ball between shots. This mix of playful family moments and classic maternity portraits created a collection of images that truly reflected their excitement. Whether in my cozy Papakura studio or outdoors at a scenic spot like One Tree Hill, maternity photoshoots focus on the natural beauty of pregnancy in a simple and elegant way. A curated client wardrobe makes the process effortless and stress-free.
A maternity photoshoot is more than just capturing a growing baby bump—it’s about celebrating love, anticipation, and family bonds. Annie’s Auckland maternity photoshoot perfectly captured both the joy and quiet reflection of this special time.
We can’t wait to welcome Annie’s baby girl into the studio and document the next chapter of her family’s story!
