Lyla’s Newborn Photoshoot

One of the absolute joys of being a newborn photographer is seeing the babies I have photographed come back as siblings!

I first met Lyla and her sister’s nana at the gym, and it was such a pleasant surprise when I found out I’d be photographing their family! Over the last few years, I had the pleasure of photographing Lyla’s big sister several times, so it was really special to see her now as a big sister herself. Watching her interact with Lyla during the photoshoot was heartwarming; you could tell she was so excited to have a little sibling to care for. It’s always wonderful to see how families grow, and seeing the bond between them made this shoot even more memorable.

Lyla’s first photoshoot was filled with so much love and joy. She was a calm, peaceful little one, and her big sister’s enthusiasm was evident as she gently helped her through the session. The session went smoothly, and we managed to capture some beautiful, timeless images of Lyla in different poses, including one with a delicate flower crown. Each shot reflected the serenity and sweetness that newborns bring.

Having worked with Lyla’s big sister over the years, it’s amazing to see her transition into the role of a big sister. Watching her take such an interest in her little sister and show so much care was truly a joy. It makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be a newborn photographer and part of these precious family moments.

The family has since relocated to Australia, but I’m looking forward to photographing them again when they visit their Nana in New Zealand.
